SRINAGAR: Marking a historic milestone in its academic journey, Cluster University Srinagar (CUS) organized a high-level interactive session with its maiden batch of Ph.D. scholars for the academic session 2026.
The landmark event was held on Monday at the Government College of Education (IASE), M.A. Road, Srinagar.
A total of 37 scholars have enrolled in the university’s Ph.D. programme across nearly 15 disciplines offered by its constituent colleges. These include Government College of Education (IASE), Sri Pratap College, Government College for Women M.A. Road, Amar Singh College, and Government Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College Bemina, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin briefed the scholars about the curriculum and framework of the Ph.D. programme. He highlighted the university’s core vision of promoting high-quality research, academic excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation. The interactive session provided a unique platform for the newly enrolled scholars to engage directly with the university administration and gain deep insights into the institution’s research ecosystem.
In her address to the scholars, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naz emphasized the critical importance of dedication, academic integrity, and innovative thinking in shaping the future of higher education. She strongly urged the pioneer batch to undertake meaningful and socially relevant research that contributes significantly to both global academia and local society, while making optimal use of the advanced resources and opportunities available at the university.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Prof. (Dr.) Syed Wilayat Rizvi, Registrar, Cluster University Srinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Khurshid Ahmad Mir, Controller of Examinations; Dr. Ghulam Hassan Dar from the Department of Biochemistry; and other faculty supervisors from various constituent colleges of the university.
Among the dignitaries present were Prof. (Dr.) Yasmeen Farooq, Principal, Government College for Women M.A. Road Srinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat, Principal, Government Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College Bemina; and Prof. (Dr.) Haris Izhar Tantray, Principal, SP College Srinagar, along with other faculty members and university officials.
Several other senior faculty members, department heads, and administrative officials were also present at the session, all extending their best wishes to the scholars as they embark on their academic research journeys.
The programme concluded with an interactive session during which scholars engaged with faculty members and university officials on various academic and research-related matters.
