Trump vows Iran ‘will never have nuclear weapon’

Must read

WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump today claimed that Iran is now seeking negotiations following recent American military strikes, asserting that Tehran’s military infrastructure had been severely weakened and warning that the United States would not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons under any circumstances.
Speaking at a rally in Rockland County, New York, Trump projected the confrontation with Iran as a major national security victory while signalling the possibility of deeper American involvement in the Middle East if necessary. His remarks came amid escalating tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear ambitions and growing global concerns over instability in the region.
“We’re going to have to journey down to the Middle East,” Donald Trump said. “Because Iran is going to have a nuclear weapon if we don’t stop them. And I said, we’re going to have to do it, and we have stopped them.”
He further declared, “They’re not going to ever have a nuclear weapon. They’re never going to have a nuclear weapon.”
During the rally, Donald Trump claimed that recent US military actions had caused massive damage to Iran’s defence infrastructure and leadership network. He alleged that Iran’s naval and air power had been effectively dismantled.
“Now, Iran, their Navy’s gone, their air force is gone, everything’s gone, their leaders are gone,” Trump said while addressing the gathering.
The US President also accused sections of the media of downplaying the impact of the American strikes and insisted that Iran was now eager to negotiate.
“And if you read the fake news, you’d think they’re doing just fine. They’re not doing just fine. They want to settle so badly,” he added.
Donald Trump also linked the Iran confrontation to global energy markets and argued that stabilising the Middle East would eventually lead to lower oil prices worldwide. “Oil prices are going to tumble as soon as I finish up with Iran, tumble, boom,” Trump said during the rally.
The remarks come at a time when tensions in West Asia continue to impact global energy markets, with fears of supply disruptions contributing to volatility in crude oil prices.
