‘Unprecedented community engagement strengthens school-education synergy across Valley’

SRINAGAR: Expressing heartfelt gratitude to parents and the wider community for their overwhelming participation, Director School Education Kashmir, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Wani (JKAS), has lauded the remarkable success of the third round of Mass Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) conducted across all schools in the Kashmir Division.
The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) successfully organized the Valley-wide Mass PTMs, witnessing an unprecedented turnout of over 5 lakh 70 thousand stakeholders, including students, parents, teachers and community members.
Held in accordance with the academic calendar for the session 2026, a total of 6,892 PTM events were conducted simultaneously across the Valley. As per official figures, participation included 3,32,173 students, 1,64,365 parents and 73,479 teachers and school heads, reflecting a deep-rooted commitment to collaborative educational progress.
The massive participation across all districts stands as a testament to the growing trust and synergy between educational institutions and the community. These meetings provided a vital platform for constructive dialogue, enabling parents and teachers to engage meaningfully on students’ academic performance, behavioral development and overall well-being.
Special emphasis was also laid on the ongoing drug de-addiction campaign across Jammu & Kashmir, with schools conducting awareness sessions and discussions to sensitize parents and students about the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of preventive measures.
Senior functionaries, including Chief Education Officers (CEOs), actively participated in the meetings, personally interacting with parents, addressing their concerns and ensuring prompt redressal wherever possible.
Reiterating his appreciation, Director School Education kashmir, Mr. Naseer Ahmad Wani (JKAS), thanked all stakeholders for their enthusiastic involvement and unwavering support in fostering a progressive and inclusive educational ecosystem. He further directed all concerned officers and teaching staff to take immediate action on the feedback and suggestions received, reinforcing accountability and responsiveness within the system.
The successful conduct of the third round of Mass PTMs reaffirms the Directorate’s steadfast commitment to strengthening transparency, inclusivity and community-driven reforms in the education sector across the Kashmir Valley.
