Srinagar: In continuation of its relentless drive against drug trafficking and the narcotics menace, Police in Anantnag carried out simultaneous Narco Cordon and Search Operations at 20 identified locations across the district, targeting drug kingpins, peddlers, and their associates involved in the illegal narcotics trade.
The operations were conducted by specially constituted police teams under the supervision of senior officers, acting on specific inputs developed during investigation of various NDPS cases and other credible intelligence. K9 squads were also pressed into service during the searches to strengthen the operational effectiveness, a police spokesperson said in a statement.
He said the coordinated action is aimed at disrupting the drug supply chain, identifying individuals providing logistical or financial support to narcotics networks, and taking strict legal action against all those found involved in the illegal trade.
“J&K Police reiterate firm commitment towards eradicating the drug menace and ensuring a safe, drug-free society,” the spokesperson said.
