Chemists & Distributors Association Hajin holds awareness prog on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

HAJIN: The Chemists and Distributors Association Hajin (CADAH) on Tuesday organised an awareness programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan at the Town Hall of the Municipal Committee Hajin to sensitise stakeholders about the growing threat of drug abuse.
ADC Bandipora, Shabir Ahmad, attended the event as the Chief Guest. Guests of Honour included Imtiyaz Parray, Dr Nisar, Senior Lecturer Shakir Shafi, SHO Hajin Mir Saleem, and President CADAH Shabaz Ahmad Mir.
The programme witnessed the participation of officials from the Health and Drugs Control Departments Bandipora, members of CADAH, and other stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, ADC Shabir Ahmad stressed the urgent need for a coordinated response to tackle drug abuse. He highlighted ongoing measures being implemented in line with UT and District NCORD Committee guidelines, including the installation of CCTV cameras at medical shops, adoption of computerised billing systems, and strict adherence to prescription-based sale of Schedule H and H1 drugs.
He also emphasised the need for stricter regulation to prevent the sale of medicines without proper prescriptions.
During the session, experts delivered lectures on the medical and social consequences of substance abuse and illegal drug trafficking, warning of its far-reaching impact on public health and society.
Participants from various sectors shared their views and called for collective efforts to curb the menace and safeguard the youth from falling prey to addiction.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Fayaz Ahmad Dar, who appreciated the participation of attendees and reiterated the association’s commitment to supporting anti-drug initiatives.
