Must read

RIYADH: Cristiano Ronaldo continued his remarkable scoring run, netting the 970th goal of his professional career as Al Nassr secured a 2-0 win over Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League.

After a tightly contested first half, the breakthrough arrived in the 76th minute when Ronaldo found the back of the net, once again stepping up for his side in a crucial moment. Kingsley Coman sealed the victory deep into stoppage time with a 90th-minute strike.

The result keeps Al Nassr firmly in control of the title race, sitting atop the table with 79 points from 26 wins, one draw, and just three defeats. Closest challengers Al Hilal trail behind on 71 points.

Ronaldo’s impact earned him the Player of the Match award, further underlining his influence in Al Nassr’s dominant campaign.

The Portuguese star also took to social media to celebrate, posting:“YALLA!! WE ARE AL NASSR!!”

Al Nassr are currently riding a sensational 20-match winning streak across competitions, a run that began in January with a 3-2 victory over Al Shabab.

Adding to their momentum, the club recently booked a place in the final of the AFC Champions League Two after a commanding 5-1 semifinal win, powered by a hat-trick from Coman.

They will now face Gamba Osaka in the final on May 16 in Riyadh, with silverware firmly in sight.

Al Nassr next return to league action against Al Qadsiah on May 3.
