JAMMU: The Indian Youth Congress on Monday launched its ‘Samvidhan Leadership Program’ in Jammu and Kashmir, aimed at grooming ”digital-based political influencers” and connecting with digital content creators, independent journalists, social media influencers and youth voices raising grassroots issues.
The party alleged that constitutional values were being undermined by the BJP government and stressed the need for proper implementation of the Constitution.
“A programme has been launched under the directions of Rahul Gandhi, called the ‘Samvidhan Leadership Program.’ Under this initiative, I am launching this programme here as the in-charge of Jammu and Kashmir Youth Congress,” Indian Youth Congress national spokesperson Aishwarya Bhadre told reporters here.
Flanked by another national spokesperson, Dipanshu Bhatt, she said that the programme seeks to prepare digital-based political influencers by reaching out to YouTubers, those running news portals and individuals speaking against what she termed the “wrong policies” of the BJP-led government.
“We want to connect them with the Youth Congress, provide them a platform within the Congress party and also extend our support,” she said.
Bhadre alleged that constitutional values were being undermined and stressed the need for proper implementation of the Constitution. She also claimed that voices critical of the government often face pressure.
The Youth Congress leader said the organisation wanted to build digital leadership and strengthen its grassroots presence through online outreach.
“Through influencers, we want to reach the masses with the issues raised by our party and the concerns we highlight for the common people of India,” she said.
Inviting content creators and youth from across Jammu and Kashmir to join the programme, she said interested participants can register through a missed call on a dedicated number or by scanning a QR code and filling out an online form.
She said that the support is important because nowadays the government does not seem to like individuals who raise their voice against it.
“If an FIR can be registered against our leader, Pawan Khera, then similar action can also be taken against small influencers and those practising independent journalism. So, we want to guide them and provide leadership, which is why this programme is very important.”
The Congress leader said that, at the same time, they want to build digital leadership. “Just as mainstream media functions—and we see how media operates—we aim to strengthen our party organisation at the grassroots level and take our leadership closer to the people,” she said.
Through influencers, she said, “We want to reach the masses with the issues raised by our party and the concerns we highlight for the common people of India. I appeal to all influencers, YouTubers, and those running news portals across Jammu and Kashmir to join this program.”
Bhadre said that under this initiative, they have released a phone number. “You need to give a missed call on that number, after which you will receive all the information. Along with that, we have also launched a QR code, which you can scan to access further details”.
She further said that after scanning the QR code, a Google Form will open. In that form, you need to fill in your basic details—your region, and information about whichever platform you operate, whether it is a YouTube channel, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or any other platform. You need to submit all that information through the form.”
