‘We’re changing face of Middle East’

TEL AVIV: Amid reports of backchannel efforts and regional outreach, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has struck a defiant note, claiming that Israel’s ongoing military and strategic actions are reshaping the region. “I promised you that we would change the face of the Middle East, and that is exactly what we are doing,” Netanyahu said in a post on X.
He revealed that he had held an “excellent conversation” with US President Donald Trump, asserting that the United States is exerting “very strong pressure” on Iran, both economically and militarily. “We are operating in full cooperation,” he added.
“I promised you that we would change the face of the Middle East, and that is exactly what we are doing. First and foremost, in Iran: I have had an excellent conversation with President Trump.
The remarks come as tensions sharpen across West Asia, diplomatic and military tracks are moving in parallel but not converging. Even as regional delegations head to Islamabad for discussions, Tehran has ruled out any direct engagement with Washington, underscoring the widening divide in the unfolding US-Israel-Iran standoff.
Iran has made it clear that its delegation will not engage with American representatives during the Islamabad visit. The development comes at a time when Washington is attempting to revive pressure-driven diplomacy, even as the conflict landscape continues to evolve on multiple fronts.
Netanyahu, in his statement on X, also pointed to parallel efforts in Lebanon, saying Israel has initiated a process aimed at achieving a “historic peace.” However, he accused Hezbollah of attempting to derail these efforts.
The Israeli leadership reiterated that it retains “full freedom of action” against threats, with Netanyahu confirming continued strikes. “We attacked yesterday, and we attacked today. We are determined to restore security to the residents of the North,” he said.
