HAJIN: In a sustained effort to curb drug abuse and sensitise the public, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday organised a mega drug awareness rally in Hajin town of Bandipora district.
The rally commenced from the main market and passed through various routes of the town before culminating at Police Station Hajin.
The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from the SDPO Hajin Nawaz Ahmad Khanday,SHO Hajin Mir Saleem,Senior lecturer Shakir Shafi,ZEO Hajin Masood Ahmad,Cultural Coordinator Muntazir Muneer,Chairman Auqaf Committee Hajin Al Haj Gh Nabi, Traders Federation, Sumo Service Federation, youth, media persons, senior citizens, students from various schools, members of civil society, and police officers.
Carrying placards and raising slogans, participants highlighted the ill effects of substance abuse and stressed the need for a drug-free society.
Senior police officers, while addressing the gathering, expressed concern over the rising menace of drug abuse and reiterated the department’s commitment to tackling the issue. They urged all sections of society to play an active role in eliminating the threat.
