SRINAGAR: Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar stated that, according to the Islamic calendar, the 25th of Shawwal 1447 AH marks the 37th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Millat, Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq (RA).
“On this solemn occasion, a Du‘a Majlis was held at the historic Jama Masjid, Srinagar, where people gathered to offer prayers for Shaheed-e-Millat and for the martyrs of Hawal of May 21, 1990,” the Auqaf said in a statement issued here.
The statement said that the widely respected and beloved leader, till his last breath, courageously guided and represented the people on religious, social, and political fronts. His unwavering commitment and fearless leadership ultimately led him to embrace martyrdom, leaving behind a profound and enduring legacy.
The Auqaf further appealed to all Imams of mosques and the faithful to offer special supplications during the five daily prayers for the elevation of the ranks of the martyred leader and all his companions.
