Bandipora,: In a continued effort to promote community welfare and outreach, the Indian Army’s Manasbal Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Kilo Force organised a comprehensive medical camp titled “Sehat-o-Afiyat” (Health & Well-being) at Rawatpura village in Ajas, a remote mid-ridge area of Bandipora district.
The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with approximately 500 local residents, including women, elderly, and children, benefiting from the initiative. Army doctors, in coordination with staff from the Community Health Centre (CHC), provided free medical consultations, health screenings, and on-the-spot treatment.
Special emphasis was placed on women’s and elderly healthcare, with the presence of female medical officers ensuring a comfortable and accessible environment for all. The camp also extended assistance to members of the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities, many of whom received formal medical attention for the first time.
In addition to medical services, Army personnel ensured smooth conduct of the camp and provided basic refreshments, reflecting a compassionate and people-centric approach.
This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment towards community welfare, inclusive healthcare, and strengthening trust and goodwill among the local population in remote and underserved areas
