SRINAGAR: The Traders Association Lal Chowk today held a highly productive and constructive meeting with the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, to deliberate on key developmental priorities concerning Lal Chowk, widely regarded as the vibrant commercial and cultural heart of Srinagar.
The meeting was attended by prominent members of the association under the leadership of President Mohammad Iqbal Khan, along with esteemed members Jatinder Singh, Naresh Kumar Mehra, and Nisar Ahmad Bhat. The delegation collectively highlighted several pressing issues requiring immediate attention to further enhance the area’s infrastructure, aesthetics, and overall functionality for traders, residents, and the steadily increasing influx of tourists, the Association said in a statement issued here.
During the interaction, strong emphasis was laid on the need for planned urban development, improved civic management, enhanced beautification measures, and initiatives aimed at strengthening Lal Chowk’s identity as a well-organized, accessible, and tourist-friendly destination.
The Divisional Commissioner gave a patient and attentive hearing to all concerns raised and assured the delegation that appropriate measures would be undertaken in a phased and time-bound manner to address the issues effectively.
