GANDERBAL: As many as 80 students are participating in a one-month free basic computer course sponsored by the 45th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under its Civic Action Programme at Rizwana Memorial College of Education in Asham.
The programme was formally inaugurated by the Commanding Officer of 45 BN CRPF, Apoorwa, in the presence of other officers of the battalion.
The initiative aims to equip young students with practical knowledge of computer technology and improve their digital skills. The trainees will be imparted instruction in the basics of computers at Rizwana B.Ed College for a period of one month.
During the course, students will be trained in fundamental computer concepts and their practical applications through regular hands-on sessions. The organisers said the programme is intended to help students from underprivileged backgrounds gain exposure to modern technology and enhance their educational prospects.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the function, CO Apoorwa said the 2nd batch of free computer courses has been started specifically to support below poverty line (BPL) students and help them acquire basic computer skills that are essential in today’s competitive world.
“Such programmes play an important role in empowering youth and opening new opportunities for them,” he said.
The Commanding Officer assured that more welfare and skill development programmes will be launched in future for the students under the civic action programme.
