UT-level Sqay South event concludes at Yousmarg

SRINAGAR: The UT-level Sqay South event successfully concluded at Yousmarg, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association in collaboration with Usha Play. Nearly 500 players, officials, and participants from across Jammu and Kashmir took part in the event.

The Chief Guest on the occasion was the CEO of 53 RR, Mr. Baba Firdous, along with other distinguished guests including Mr. Mandeep Singh, CEO of Usha International Ltd.; ECO SSB Nagam; Mr. Balbir Singh, Assistant Director of Kashmir Youth Services and Sports; and the CEO of Yousmarg Development Authority. A large number of officers, officials from civil and police administrations, parents, and local residents attended the event.

The Chief Guest praised the organizers for hosting such events, emphasizing the importance of keeping the youth fit, healthy, and drug-free, and highlighting the exceptional performance of Kashmiri youth in sports and other fields as a positive sign for a better Kashmir.

Mr. Mandeep Singh, CEO of Usha International, expressed his commitment to promoting indigenous sports and talent in the country. He announced plans to organize larger events to support and uplift Kashmir’s traditional martial art of Sqay and assured full support for future initiatives.

Organizing Secretary Disha Pandith thanked all guests, especially Usha Play, for sponsoring the event. She expressed hope for continued collaboration to promote Kashmiri culture and sports and appreciated Jammu and Kashmir Sqay Association for choosing Yousmarg as the event venue, which she believes will also boost tourism in the area.
