SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi led a comprehensive meeting with officials from various government departments at the Board’s Central Office in Srinagar to review preparations for Eid-al-Fitr and Shab-e-Qadr.
The meeting, aimed at ensuring smooth observance of the festivals, was attended by senior officials including Assistant Commissioners Shahbaz Ahmad Bodha (Pulwama) and Dr. Salahuddin (Ganderbal), Senior Superintendent of Police CID Peerzada Naveed, Superintendent of Police Kashmir Saleem Jahangir, Chief Medical Officer Tahir Sajad, Deputy Director Health Services Dr. Saba Wani, Deputy Director Divisional Commissioner’s Office Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Suhail, DySP Traffic Srinagar Mehboob Ahmad, Kashmir University Chief Proctor Riyaz Ahmad Qureshi, and officials from Power and Public Health Engineering Departments, among others. Waqf Board Executive Magistrate Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin was also present.
The meeting involved an extensive review of arrangements across Kashmir for Shab-e-Qadr and Eid, leading to the formulation of a coordinated action plan involving all departments and the Waqf Board. Several decisions were made to streamline efforts and ensure proper management during the festivals.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Andrabi emphasized the importance of dedication and efficient planning, stating, “We are always tested by the high expectations of the people, and our hard work and proper management are key to achieving positive results.” She also appreciated the support from the administration and the community in finalizing foolproof arrangements at major religious sites across Kashmir.
