AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet on Friday entrusted a group of ministers to analyse the regional repercussions of the ongoing West Asia conflict.

Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat, I&PR Minister K Parthasarathy said the Group of Ministers (GoM) will closely track the escalations between the US-Israel and Iran to take necessary measures.

He said the group has been tasked with assessing financial strain on the southern state and monitor potential interruptions in the gas and diesel supplies.

Parthasarathy said that the ministers will establish a priority list for gas distribution, whether it should be hostels, educational institutions or hospitals.

The GoM will also decide how to deal with cooking gas issues, he added.

Further, the Cabinet excluded 66,157 acres of objection-less Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) lands from the prohibited 22-A list, among land decisions.

The Cabinet approved Andhra Pradesh-Chief Minister Employment Generation Programme (AP-CMEGP), which aims to create 3,500 micro-entrepreneurs, Parthasarathy said.

With a budget of Rs 300 crore, AP-CMEGP is expected to generate 17,000 jobs.

The Cabinet approved Rs 119 crore to build a ‘Telugu Cultural Centre’ at Neerukonda village in the greenfield capital city of Amaravati. It will be equipped with 2,000 seating capacity, an amphi theatre and also a Telugu Language Museum.

Further, Parthasarathy said the Cabinet has decided to establish 30 new hostels for the benefit of women working away from their hometowns, which will also come with creche facilities.

The Cabinet approved offering five acres of land for free to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, New Delhi for setting up a Kendriya Vidyalaya school at Raghavapuram village in NTR district.

A similar land allotment has been approved at Purushottapuram village in Srikakulam district to set up Kendriya Vidyalaya school, among other decisions.
