SRINAGAR: The Shaheed Himayun Muzzamil Memorial Government Degree College Anantnag is organizing the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026.
Scheduled on 28th February 2026, the programme is a joint initiative of the College with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
“The event aims to provide a vibrant platform for young minds to engage in thought-provoking discussions on crucial national issues, fostering leadership and policy awareness among the youth,” said Dr. Peerzada Yasir, Coordinator Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 for the district Anantnag.
Young individuals aged between 18 to 25 years of age, residing within Anantnag district either registered in the Degree Colleges of the Anantnag District or the non-student young residents of the district are invited to participate in this prestigious program, he said.
“Our college encourages enthusiastic participation from students, young professionals and aspiring leaders who wish to contribute meaningfully to national discourse and be a part of the India’s vision for development,” Dr. Yasir said.
The district-level competition will be held at the College. The participants will be speaking on the topic “50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy” for five minutes.
