Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman and Jamia Masjid’s head cleric, Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq Friday termed the amnesty to the first-time stone pelters as ‘a good cosmetic effort.
“Withdrawing FIR against so called ‘first time stone pelters’ looks more as a looking good cosmetic effort,” Mirwaiz wrote on twitter in this afternoon.
“If Govt is serious and sincere and there is really a change of heart and approach then all political prisoners should be immediately released, their freedom restored and AFSPA, PSA revoked,” he wrote.
