Gurez: Amid extreme winter conditions and heavy snowfall, the Power Development Department (PDD)/Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) Bandipora restored electricity supply to Gurez Valley after an outage lasting 18 days.
Officials said that despite sub-zero temperatures and difficult terrain, power staff worked round the clock to repair damaged infrastructure. After extensive line patrolling and fault rectification, the Receiving Stations at Dawar and Kanzalwan were successfully restored, bringing much-needed relief to residents of the remote valley.
Locals expressed gratitude to the department for restoring electricity, saying the prolonged outage had caused severe hardship, especially during the harsh winter period.
