In Ganderbal and Shopian, police teams on the ground worked tirelessly despite harsh conditions to ensure the safety of the public. Their efforts included evacuating vehicles stuck in deep snow, facilitating safe movement, and providing on-spot assistance to vulnerable commuters. The timely intervention by police in Shopian was particularly appreciated by residents, as they continued to remain actively deployed during the fresh snowfall, exemplifying their dedication to humanitarian duties beyond law enforcement.
Meanwhile, in Baramulla, police demonstrated rapid response and compassion. Following an emergency call from SHO Police Station Kreeri, officers rushed to Watergam to evacuate a pregnant woman requiring urgent medical attention despite challenging weather and treacherous roads. The woman was safely shifted to SDH Kreeri for necessary treatment. In addition, police personnel responded promptly to reports of Abdul Rehman Shah from Mongam, who was injured after coming under a snow-laden shed, and a two-year-old girl found unconscious at her residence in Thindma, Kreeri. Due to heavy snow and slippery slopes, the police evacuated the injured and stabilized the child at the hospital.
