Mission Yuva workshop for SHGs from NRLM held at Kulgam

KULGAM: A workshop under Mission Yuva was conducted today in District Kulgam with active participation of Self Help Groups (SHGs) formed under NRLM. The programme was presided by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Altaf Ahmad Khan.

During the workshop, the ADDC highlighted the progress of SHGs from information sharing to income enhancement and enterprise development, emphasizing their transformation into sustainable livelihood units. He underlined the importance of strengthening Lakhpati Didi enterprises through continuous mentoring, credit linkage, skill upgradation, and robust market linkages.

Special emphasis was laid on onboarding SHGs under Mission Yuva, with on-the-spot registration facilitated for eligible groups. The participants were sensitized about leveraging the ONDC (Open Network for Digital Commerce) platform to digitally promote and market SHG products, expand outreach, and improve profitability.

The workshop also focused on building SHG capacities to access institutional finance, adopt improved production practices, and integrate with digital and physical markets for long-term sustainability.

The programme was attended by officers from the Lead District Manager (LDM), Employment Department, and other line departments, who assured coordinated support for SHG-led enterprises under Mission Yuva.

The event concluded with interactive discussions and reaffirmation of the district administration’s commitment to empowering SHGs and promoting entrepreneurship, particularly under the Lakhpati Didi initiative.
