SRINAGAR: Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Syed Dr. Syed Darakhshan Andrabi (Minister of State), on Monday visited Aasar-e-Shareef Kabamarg, Anantnag, and paid respects at the renowned shrine. She participated in a significant inauguration ceremony alongside Waqf Board officials, engineers, and local residents.
Dr. Andrabi officially inaugurated the newly constructed Administrative Block and the Ornamental Aluminum Composite Panel (OACP) Dome at the Ziyarat. She also inaugurated the ongoing upgradation works of the Grand Masjid at the site.
Addressing the gathering, the Waqf Chairperson emphasized the Board’s commitment to the continuous development of this shrine and others across Jammu & Kashmir. Later, she paid obeisance at the shrine of Syed Ahmad Kirmani (RA) in Movera, Pahalgam, praying for the welfare and peace of all.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Andrabi highlighted that dedicated service combined with a clear vision yields positive results. She noted that innovative and sustainable technologies are being employed in development projects, ensuring quality infrastructure through strict timelines and transparent, accountable processes.
She further stated that over the past three years, the Waqf Board has enhanced shrine facilities by constructing sanitary units, pathways, upgrading the Masjid, and implementing food distribution and other allied works.
Executive Magistrate of the Waqf Board, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, accompanied Dr. Andrabi during the visit.
