JAMMU: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) Jammu of Crime Branch J&K has achieved a historic milestone in 2025 by successfully disposing of a record number of cases and complaints, involving crores of rupees recovered and returned to victims. The wing’s dedicated efforts in investigating complex financial crimes have played a vital role in strengthening transparency and law enforcement across Jammu zone.
In a statement issued here, a police spokesperson stated, “This year, EOW Jammu marked a remarkable performance by disposing of a record number of FIRs involving serious economic offences. We registered 67 new cases, breaking the record of the last 25 years, and the total monetary value of disposed cases amounts to approximately Rs. 20 Crores.” The spokesperson further added, “Our teams arrested 22 accused persons involved in various FIRs, and conducted searches and arrests in Jammu and other states, demonstrating our commitment to justice and public safety.”
The wing’s meticulous investigations involved detailed analysis of digital and documentary evidence, coordination with government departments, banks, and financial institutions. “The professionalism, dedication, and teamwork of our officers have been instrumental in achieving these results,” the police official said.
In addition to case disposals, the EOW Jammu resolved a total of 1,186 complaints during the year, carefully assessing each on factual and legal grounds. The wing also investigated numerous land frauds, impersonation cases, visa scams, high-profile financial crimes, and misuse of official positions, with special attention to illegal job consultancies operating in the region.
Highlighting the importance of technological support, the police spokesperson said, “The Photo Sections of EOW Jammu, established across districts, have played a crucial role by providing photographic evidence from 3,599 crime scenes, aiding in the quick identification and apprehension of suspects.”
Expressing gratitude for collaborative efforts, the official stated, “We sincerely thank various government departments, banks, and private sector stakeholders for their continued cooperation and timely sharing of information, which has been vital in our investigations.”
