Monitoring, Counseling, And Breaking Taboos At Home Are Non-Negotiable. Let’s Explore The Practical Steps To Combat A Societal Sin On The Rise.

The graph of child sexual abuse is steadily rising. Every day, some sexual incident involving children occurs. Over the past few years, there has been an unexpected increase in this. To fulfil sexual lust, even children are not spared anymore. Children are generally not mature enough to understand this kind of abuse. A child is naturally curious. They slip up, and then what is done to them becomes a cause of destruction in the future. The more one thinks deeply about this problem, the more one becomes confused. Much research has been done on sexual addiction. Many obstacles hinder reaching a definitive conclusion.
A child, from birth, regards certain body parts with more seriousness. We ourselves also make a child sensitive towards certain specific body parts. Later on, if these sensitive parts are touched in a way that the child perceives as against their will, then different kinds of thoughts are born in them, and they start behaving in strange ways. From childhood, a child puts their fingers and toes in their mouth and touches them. Small girls and boys also touch their own private parts. This clearly shows that some organs are very sensitive and distinct from other organs. It is from here that the opportunities for the doors of sexual abuse to open become clear. In a state of unawareness, a girl or a boy can do anything.
Once, I saw a girl and a boy playing. Because the girl bent over, her frock rode up. The boy immediately pulled her frock down and covered her back. That boy turned red due to innocence, but the girl was laughing. She was engrossed in her own world. Another time, that same boy covered his eyes with his hands when the girl’s mother was changing her clothes. These two incidents forced me to think that, indeed, sexual matters are very sensitive. Any negligence in this regard can lead to disaster. And it is this very aspect that is exploited in our society.
There are many reasons behind this sin. The first is the worship of lust. Sexist types of people cannot channel their sexual urges in a reasonable way. They know how to fulfil their lust with anyone and anywhere. Just as they eat and sleep every day, similarly, they also want to obtain sexual pleasure. They are always looking for opportunities. Such people often occupy high positions and take full advantage of their status. Today’s world has become completely blind in the pursuit of material gains. A child also desires success. They fall prey to these beasts.
The second reason is home training. If we had clearly explained from home what sexual abuse is, it could have been controlled to a great extent. If the difference between good touch and bad touch had been explained, the situation would not have deteriorated so much. On the contrary, we get nervous about sexual topics. We shouldn’t be nervous about these things which are present in every girl and boy from birth. Yes, at a specific age, certain things emerge, but that doesn’t mean we should stop talking about it. We have done exactly that till today, and the results have been very bitter. Our children are teased in inappropriate ways, and we panic only when the water has already gone over our heads.
The third reason is the internet. It is a fact that keeping certain body parts covered is beneficial. Covering them closes the doors to sin. But the internet has stripped humanity bare. Previously, there was curiosity to know about certain things; today, even a small child sees them. Every body part is enticing on the internet. This has also contributed to the increasing trend of sexual abuse. When a boy or girl became inclined towards the opposite sex, they were advised and explained to. This used to happen in our time. In contrast, the internet has made young girls and boys mature before their time. Now, even today’s children are being drawn towards sexual lust.
The fourth reason is our society. It has relegated an important thing like sex to the basement. It is a forbidden tree; approaching it and talking about it are both considered illegitimate. We have helped in bringing the situation to this point. Prostitution is also a part of our thinking. Similarly, child sexual abuse is also a part of society’s decadence. We have given useless traditions the name of culture. But the things that help build society and its individuals are far away, beating their heads in regret. When have we ever wanted to eradicate evil? On the contrary, we punished evil people. We treated them savagely. But we never collectively thought about the evils flourishing in society.
So, the need of the hour is to counsel underage boys and girls in a conducive environment. They should be kept away from things that incite sexual lust. Keep an eye on your children. Also, monitor their mobile phones. Forgive them for their mistakes and advise them to stay away from them in the future. We should also refrain from unnecessary talk and actions in front of our children. The school performance of children should be monitored. What a child does when alone should be monitored.
Furthermore, anyone caught in child sexual abuse should be punished according to the law. There is a need to make our children bold. They should not fall for temptation. Finally, the role of the home is the most important. If we start from there itself, many sins can be prevented. Let us hope for the best.
