Srinagar: In a proactive move to bolster security and ensure proper utilization of hospital facilities, J&K Police in coordination with hospital authorities conducted joint inspections of staff and doctors’ lockers across multiple healthcare institutions in the region. The drives included District Hospital Shopian, Community Health Centre (CHC) Zainapora, and various health facilities in Kulgam district.
In light of recent security concerns, including the recent blast incident in Delhi, a special inspection was carried out at District Hospital Shopian and CHC Zainapora. The primary objective was to identify unclaimed, unattended, or unidentified lockers within the hospital premises, thereby eliminating any potential vulnerabilities that could be exploited by anti-national elements or misused for illegal activities.
During the inspection, all lockers were thoroughly checked and verified. Lockers that were found unclaimed, improperly labelled, or lacking valid ownership documentation were recorded for follow-up action. Hospital authorities were instructed to maintain accurate records of all allocated lockers and ensure strict adherence to identification protocols to enhance institutional security.
Similarly, in Kulgam district, joint teams of police and medical officers inspected lockers used by doctors and staff across various health institutions. The drive aimed to prevent misuse, unauthorized storage, and ensure that lockers are used solely for official purposes. Staff members were briefed on the importance of maintaining proper records and using lockers responsibly.
J&K Police said that such inspections are part of ongoing security and transparency measures, aimed at safeguarding public facilities and preventing any misuse of hospital infrastructure. Police authorities urged all institutions to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients and staff alike.
