J&K UT Thang-Ta Championship concludes

SRINAGAR: The J&K UT Thang-Ta Championship concluded on Tuesday at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall, Polo Ground, Srinagar, marking the end of an exciting three-day event held from 9th to 11th November 2025.

Teams from all districts of Jammu & Kashmir participated, showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and exemplary sporting spirit throughout the championship.

The closing ceremony was graced by Er. Aijaz Hussain, Member of the Haj Committee of India, DDC Khonmoh Srinagar, and Co-Incharge BJP Minority Morcha, UT J&K, who attended as the Chief Guest. He highly appreciated the efforts of the J&K Sports Council for its continuous commitment to the upliftment and promotion of sports across Jammu & Kashmir.

Organised by the Jammu & Kashmir Thang-Ta Association in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, the championship reflected the ongoing dedication to preserving traditional martial arts and providing a strong competitive platform for young athletes across the Union Territory.

Players selected in the junior weight categories will go on to represent Jammu & Kashmir at the 31st Junior National Thang-Ta Championship 2025, scheduled to be held in Guwahati, Assam, from 22nd to 25th December 2025.

The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation for all participants, officials, coaches, and supporters, whose commitment and enthusiasm ensured the championship’s success.
