Urges Bihar people to vote for change
PATNA: RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has intensified his attack on the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar, urging voters to bring about change in the upcoming Assembly elections. He called on party workers and candidates to launch a vigorous campaign, asserting that public sentiment has turned against the incumbent administration.“Nomination filing is over and now the time for campaigning has come. This time, the people of Bihar have made up their minds for change. The people of Bihar are fed up with the current double-engine government,” he said in a press briefing on Tuesday.Accusing the state government of rampant corruption and rising crime, the RJD leader said the situation has worsened under the rule of a double-engine government led by Nitish Kumar.“People are fed up with unemployment and migration. The current government copied the announcements we made earlier to the people,” he said.Tejashwi also made a special announcement aimed at women and contractual employees. He announced that if voted to power, his government would regularize the services of Jivika Didis and other contractual workers across the state.“Jivika Didis and Community Mobilizers (CMs) will be made permanent and granted the status of government employees. We will ensure a monthly salary of Rs 30,000 for Jivika Didis,” he said in a post on X.He added that all contractual employees working under various state government schemes would be made permanent. “Contractual workers who have been enduring physical, mental, and economic exploitation through various agencies will now be made permanent all at once,” he added. As the campaign gains momentum, Tejashwi Yadav appears to be positioning himself as the face of change in Bihar, challenging the long-standing leadership of Nitish Kumar and the NDA alliance.
