Police raid residences of militant associates in Sgr

Srinagar: In a concerted effort to dismantle the militant network and prevent unlawful activities, Srinagar Police launched extensive raids across multiple locations in the city. The operations targeted residences of militant associates and overground workers (OGWs) linked to banned militant organizations, as part of ongoing investigations under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
The coordinated searches took place in various areas of Srinagar, focusing on individuals suspected of facilitating, aiding, or abetting terror-related activities. Raids were conducted at the residences of Asrar Ahmad Bala son of Rafi Bala resident of Omer Colony Lal Bazar, Shahbaz Ahmad Bhat son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat resident of Palpora Noorbagh, Fayaz Ahmad Ganie son of Guam Mohammad Ganie resident of Suthsu Kalan, Burhan Nazir son of Nazir Ahmad Kushoo resident of Beeroni Kathidarwaza, Sajid Majeed Shah son of Abdul Majeed Shah resident of Nowpora Sekidafar, Ashiq Bashir Najar son of Bashir Ahmad Najar resident of Soiteng, Umer Adil Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Soiteng, Shabir Ahmad Ganie son of Gh Mohi-ud-din Ganie resident of New Theed, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat son of Aziz Ah Bhat resident of New Theed, Mohd Altaf Ganie son of Fayaz Ahmad resident of New Theed, Fayaz Ahmad Ganie son of Mohd Sultan resident of New Theed, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Ahad Bhat resident of New Theed and Ahsan Ahmad Bhat @ Munna son of late Mohd Yousf resident of Mughal Mohall Raniwari A/P Indra Nagar, Srinagar.
The searches were conducted in accordance with legal procedures, in the presence of Executive Magistrates and independent witnesses, under the supervision of senior officers of J&K Police, police said, adding that the primary aim was to seize incriminating materials such as documents, digital devices, and other evidence relevant to ongoing investigations.
These operations are part of a broader intelligence-gathering effort to pre-empt and disrupt any conspiracy or militant activity threatening public peace and security, police added.
