SRINAGAR: A one-day Tribal Sub Plan (TSP) programme was organized by the AICRP on Pulse of Dryland Agriculture Research Station (DARS), Rangreth in collaboration with ICAR Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan, Almora and Department of Agriculture Kashmir.
The programme was organized for tribal farming community of Hariganivan (Kangan), Ganderbal.
Dr. Ajaz Ahmad Lone, Programme coordinator briefed the participants about various aspects of pulse cultivation, Dr S N Geelani emphasized on various aspects of organic agriculture for long term sustainability of Agriculture in Temperate region of Kashmi.
More than 60 farmers attended the programme and were provided with agricultural inputs including pea seed, biofertilizers and other technical material materials.
The event aimed to promote sustainable pulse production and enhance livelihood opportunities among the tribal farming communities of the region.
Efforts of Agriculture line department were also appreciated for their overall contribution in the native agri-scenario of the zone under the leadership of Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal.
The participants expressed their gratitude towards SKUAST-Kashmir for its continuous efforts in supporting tribal farmers through various developmental initiatives.
