DUBAI: Sri Lanka defeated Afghanistan on Thursday by six wickets in the Asia Cup 2025, thereby confirming Super Fours qualification for Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka had already booked a spot in the next round, along with India and Pakistan from Group A. Bangladesh’s advancement, therefore, completed the roster for the Super Fours stage.
The standings in Group A are yet to be confirmed, as India plays Oman in Abu Dhabi on Friday. However, the host nation is likely to finish as group winner, courtesy of its healthy Net Run Rate.
Each team will face the other three once in the Super Fours stage, and the top two will contest the title clash on September 28 in Dubai.
