TOKYO: Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem finished 10th in the men’s javelin throw final at the 2025 edition of the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Thursday.
The reigning Olympic champion had a foul throw after the first round of elimination and failed to make the next round.
Nadeem ended with a best throw of 82.75m, which he notched up in his third attempt. He began with a throw of 82.73m, followed it up with a foul, after which his third attempt wasn’t enough to keep him in the race for a medal.
Earlier this year, the Pakistani thrower won gold at the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi, South Korea, with a best throw of 86.40m.
In 2024, Nadeem had beaten the then reigning Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra of India at the Paris Olympics to take the title with a massive 92.97m — his Personal Best.
