NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday said India is becoming empowered today by walking on the path shown by “Sudarshan-Chakradhari Mohan and Charkhadhari Mohan”.
Addressing a gathering in Ahmedabad after launching key projects worth over Rs 5,400 crore and aimed at strengthening connectivity, improving public services, and driving economic growth, Modi said, emphasizing the country’s progress under his leadership.
“Today, we do not spare terrorists and their masters, no matter where they are hiding,” the Prime Minister said emphasizing that “Every type of industry is expanding here on the land of Gujarat. It has become a manufacturing hub.”
Asserting that “Our continuous endeavour is to empower both the neo-middle class and the middle class,” the Prime Minister said: “This Diwali, whether it’s the business community or the rest of our family members… everyone will get a Double Bonus of happiness.”
Modi’s visit to Ahmedabad is seen as a calculated move to pacify rising anger among citizens ahead of the upcoming Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) elections. Despite poor road conditions in the area, Modi emphasized Gujarat’s role in India’s growth, praising the city’s infrastructure and promising accelerated development in East Ahmedabad.
The projects launched by PM Modi are worth over ₹5,400 crore, aiming to boost connectivity, public services, and economic growth in the region. These initiatives are part of the government’s efforts to drive development and improve the quality of life for citizens.
Modi, who is on a two-day visit to Gujarat, will on Tuesday inaugurate localized production of hybrid battery electrodes and flag-off Battery electric vehicle exports to 100 countries at Hansalpur in Ahmedabad.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate multiple railway projects worth over Rs 1,400 crore to the nation. This includes the doubling of the 65 km Mahesana-Palanpur rail line, gauge conversion of the Kalol-Kadi-Katosan Road and Bechraji-Ranuj rail lines, enhancing broad-gauge capacity for safer and smoother connectivity in North Gujarat.
He will also flag off a passenger train between Katosan Road and Sabarmati, and launch a car-loaded freight train service from Bechraji. In addition, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the widening of the Viramgam-Khudad-Rampura road and lay the foundation for six-lane underpasses on the Ahmedabad-Mehsana-Palanpur route, along with a railway overbridge on the Ahmedabad-Viramgam road.
