Received zero claim from pol parties: ECI

NEW DELHI: The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Tuesday said that it has not received any claim or objection from political parties even after 11 days of the Bihar draft electoral release under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.
In a daily bulletin on Bihar SIR 2025, the ECI shared details of the claims and objections filed by political parties, individual electors and new voters.
The ECI had published the draft Bihar voter list on August 1 and as of 10 am on August 12, no political party has submitted any claim or objection against the inclusion or exclusion of electors.
The ECI has given political parties time till September 1 to file their claims or objections regarding the inclusion of eligible voters who are left out of the voter list and exclusion of those who they think are in the voter list but not eligible.
As per the bulletin, the poll panel has received 13,970 claims and objections directly from electors for the inclusion of eligible electors and the exclusion of ineligible electors.
Besides, it has received 63,591 Form 6 and declarations from new electors. These also include Form 6 submitted by the BLAs.
