Mumbai airport faces network failure, flight ops disrupted

NEW DELHI: Operations at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) were disrupted on Saturday following a network failure.
The network failure affected airlines’s check-in systems across the airport, resulting in flight delays.
Responding to passengers’ complaints on X , the CSMIA said, “We would like to inform you that we’re currently facing a network failure across the airport.”
The airport further stated that in a bid to minimize disruptions they started operating in manual mode.
“We activated contingencies and are working on resolving the issue with our core team. We’re operating in manual mode to minimize disruptions. We appreciate your patience in this regard,” the Team CSMIA added.
In a separate statement on X, Air India said that the outage has aff3cted some of its flights.
“A third-party data network outage had impacted check-in systems at Mumbai airport, thereby delaying flight departures of airlines, including Air India. The systems have since been restored, however, some of our flights may continue to be affected for some time as the situation normalises progressively,” the airline said.
