SRINAGAR: Cricket fever is back in the valley with the first edition of Chinar Premier League being organised as an initiative aimed at promoting peace, youth engagement and sporting excellence by Indian Army’s Chinar Corps in Baramulla district. It pays homage to the Late CDS General Bipin Rawat.
The uniqueness of this year’s tournament is the Pan Kashmir participation which is unprecedented. Over 64 teams from all over Kashmir region will be vying for the coveted trophy this year, PRO (Defence), Srinagar said in a statement issued here.
The T-20 cricket championship being organised from 21 Jul to 22 Aug 2025 promises to be a fitting tribute to the former Chief of Defence Staff and aims to promote the values of discipline, teamwork and patriotism, which General Bipin Rawat exemplified throughout his illustrious career. The zeal and enthusiasm of the youth is overwhelming and the same is visible with the number of participating teams.
