Direct SMC & Revenue officers for swift & time bound disposal of eligible cases
SRINAGAR: In order to review the progress on implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY-U 2.0) in the District, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Akshay Labroo and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation(SMC), Faz Lul Haseeb on Wednesday held a joint meeting of Revenue and SMC Officers here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.
The meeting was among others attended by Chief Planning Officer, Fayaz Ahmad Dar, Joint Commissioner SMC, Nuzhat Khurshid, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Umar Gulzar, all Tehsildars, SMC Ward Officers, and Officers from J&K Housing Board.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner & SMC Commissioner took a detailed appraisal about the implementation of the PMAY-Urban scheme in the District and assessed the status of registration of beneficiaries made under the scheme in Srinagar till date. Stakeholder Departments were directed to expedite the process of verification of the cases to ensure that not a single genuine beneficiary is left out from the scheme. Stress was also laid on maintaining utmost transparency and accountability ensuring timely disposal of the cases.
Stressing adherence to the established verification mechanism, the DC & Commissioner SMC urged Departments to act promptly in line with scheme guidelines.
The DC & Commissioner SMC emphasized upon seamless interdepartmental coordination in disposal of cases of the genuine beneficiaries.
Earlier, Joint Commissioner SMC briefed the meeting about the present status with regard to execution of the PMAY-U in Srinagar District.
Meanwhile, in order to ensure the effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) and the efficient utilization of the District Mineral Fund for the development of mining-affected areas, DC Srinagar Akshay Labroo conducted a review of works being undertaken under District Mineral Fund on Wednesday at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Planning Officer, Superintending Engineer R&B, District Programme Officer (ICDS), Chief Medical Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Mineral Officer, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats District Youth Services & Sports Officer, Executive Engineers of I&FC, R&B, and other concerned Officers.
At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the Chairman of the District Mineral Foundation Trust, conducted a comprehensive review of each developmental activity undertaken in the District under PMKKKY using the District Mineral Fund.
On the occasion, the DC, stressed upon the stakeholder Departments to ensure timely completion of the ongoing projects so that benefit of the works percolate the target population in both directly and indirectly affected areas as per the PMKKKY guidelines.
The chair also reviewed the progress of each developmental work carried out during the year 2024-25 under PMKKKY for the development of areas and welfare of people affected by mining-related operations.
Earlier, the District Mineral Officer Srinagar presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation, informing the Chair about various developmental activities undertaken in the District under PMKKKY using the District Mineral Fund.
