SONAMARG: A group of domestic tourists currently holidaying in the picturesque Sonamarg valley has urged fellow countrymen to shed fears and visit Kashmir.
Speaking to Kashmir Reader, the tourists who arrived from different parts of the country praised the unmatched hospitality of the locals and said they felt completely safe throughout their stay. “Kashmiris treated us like their own. The way they welcomed us with warmth and affection left us speechless,” a tourist from Delhi said.
They dismissed the fear psychosis triggered by a recent isolated incident involving a tourist, terming the narrative “exaggerated and far from reality.” “The peace and serenity here contradict what we see in the media. This place is not just safe, it is soulful,” said another tourist.
A female tourist from Kolkata said, “I’ve travelled a lot, but I’ve never experienced such hospitality anywhere else. The fear I had before coming here vanished the moment we stepped into Kashmir. We’ll definitely return.”
The visitors also lauded the efforts of the local administration and security agencies for maintaining a peaceful environment and ensuring tourists’ safety.
“This is truly heaven on earth — come and witness it yourself,” they said.
