SRINAGAR: Three scholars from Jammu and Kashmir, including Kashmir Reader columnist Dr Shahid Amin Trali along with Dr Firdous Ahmad Malik and Dr Naveed Ahmad Lone, have co-edited a major academic volume titled Financial Resilience and Environmental Sustainability: Global South Perspectives, recently published by Springer, one of theleading academic publishers.
The book is co-edited in collaboration with Dr Samriti Mahajan (Lingayas Vidyapeeth) and Dr Devendra Kumar Yadav (Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University Lucknow). It brings together interdisciplinary research and policy insights aimed at enhancing financial resilience and promoting environmental sustainability across the Global South. Key themes explored include green finance, inclusive economic development, poverty alleviation, and sustainable growth.
Dr Firdous Ahmad Malik, from Budgam, currently serves as Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of the People, USA. He is also the President of the Jammu and Kashmir Economic Association and has held previous positions at the National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP) and O.P. Jindal Global University.
Dr Shahid Amin Trali, a native of Tral in south Kashmir, is Associate Professor of Management and Convener of the Institution’s Innovation Council at ITM, Gwalior. An alumnus (FDP) of IIM Ahmedabad, he frequently contributes columns on innovation, entrepreneurship, and social development.
Dr Naveed Ahmad Lone, also from Kashmir, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Degree College Pulwama, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. His academic work focuses on monetary and developmenteconomics.
The book has been welcomed as a significant contribution to global scholarship, amplifying the voices of researchers from the Global South and highlighting the importance of resilient, sustainable economic models in emerging economies.
