HAJIN: The Seminar, Debates & Cultural Committee of the college organised a one-day seminar on the theme, “Show your Talent” in the seminar hall of the college.
The seminar started with the formal welcome address given by the principal of the college, Prof (Dr) Gazala Firdous. In her inaugural speech, the principal highlighted the role of college in grooming the talent of students.
She stressed to students that “artistic genius is not a meticulous gift rather a talent” that can be developed by education, hard work & dedication.
Prof (Dr) Mehraj ud Din Hajini encouraged students to continuously strive for the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom for achieving their innate talent. He quoted Shakespeare, John Keats and other poets to show how talent can be groomed through an intuitive and imaginative journey into the hidden layers of the individual self.
Similarly, Dr Fayrooz Ahmad Mir presented the coming-of-age account of the college and its role in bringing up the desired change and transformation in the lives of students. He presented a brief biography of each faculty member and highlighted their distinctive role in the development of the college.
Dr Firdous Ahmad, in his speech, called upon students to inculcate moral and ethical values in their lives.
Later on, the college administration distributed NSS certificates among the NSS students for their regular social services.
In the talent display session, the students showcased their unique and distinctive talents in creative and critical areas. They actively participated in creative writing, mimicry, public speaking and group singing activities.
The event was attended by all members of the teaching and non-teaching faculty, along with the local media fraternity.
All the students were provided with light refreshments by the protocol committee of the college.
At the end of the seminar, a formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Fayrooz Ahmad Mir, Convenor, Seminar & Debates Committee of the college.
