SRINAGAR: In a significant health initiative, Imam Hussain (AS) Hospital and Paramedical Institute, Bemina Srinagar, organised a free gynaecology camp on Tuesday, drawing a large number of women from across the Kashmir Valley.
The camp was aimed at raising awareness among women about the importance of reproductive and general health at all stages of life. Dr Tayzeen, a senior gynaecologist, led the OPD and provided consultations, diagnoses, and treatment to patients suffering from various gynaecological issues.
According to the organisers, the camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with women from different districts attending and availing free medical services. “The purpose of organising such a camp is to sensitise women about their health, especially in areas where access to specialised healthcare remains limited,” the hospital management said in a statement.
Dr Iftikhar, Medical Superintendent of Imam Hussain (AS) Hospital, emphasised the hospital’s commitment to community service. “Being a part of the society, it becomes imperative upon us to hold such camps for our female patients and extend professional care without financial burden,” he said.
The hospital administration further announced plans to organise similar health awareness programs in the near future, catering to the needs of underserved sections of society.
