Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday declared the results of the Higher Secondary Part Two (Class 12) Annual Examination 2025, with an overall pass percentage of 75%. Out of 1,03,308 students who appeared for the examination, 77,311 successfully cleared it.
Girls have once again performed better than boys. The pass percentage among girls stood at 80%, while boys achieved a 69% pass rate. In the distinction category (75% marks and above), 30,622 students were placed, whereas 36,131 students secured first division (60% and above). The number of students who got second division (48% and above) stood at 30,034, and only 74 students passed in the third division.
A total of 970 students failed the examination, and 25,027 students will have to reappear in one or more subjects. The board also reported 42 absentees and 30 examination cancellations. Additionally, 24 students had disputed eligibility and 3 were disqualified.
The Commerce stream recorded the highest pass percentage at 79%, followed by Science at 75% and Arts at 66%.
The top-performing subjects include Persian, Philosophy, Islamic Studies, and Punjabi with pass percentages close to or at 100%. Among vocational courses, Health Care, Automotive, and Beauty & Wellness showed outstanding results with most students achieving first-class marks.
The JKBOSE has congratulated all successful students and encouraged those who have to reappear to prepare well for the supplementary exams.
Meanwhile as many as 21 girls and a boy have figured among the top three position holders in the Class 12th examination, the results of which were declared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday.
According to official details, the top three positions in the Science stream have been shared by eight students — seven girls and one boy — several of whom are from government higher secondary schools.
In the Science stream, Aanchal Parihar of SP Higher Secondary School, Exchange Road Jammu, secured the first position by scoring 495 marks (99%).
The second position was shared by Jannat Shabir Rawa of SRM Welkin Higher Secondary School, Sopore (Baramulla), and Sehrish Jahangir of Government HSS Bugam. Both students scored 494 marks (98.8%).
The third position in the Science stream was shared by five students — four girls and one boy — each scoring 492 marks (98.4%).
These students are: Adan Ajaz, Government Girls HSS Kothibagh Srinagar; Burooj Naqash, Government Boys HSS Barzulla; Muazam Manzoor Sofi, Government Boys HSS Halmathpora
Rasiya, Government Girls HSS Zadibal Srinagar; Shally Sharma, Government Model HSS Girls Udhampur.
In the Commerce stream, the top three positions have been secured by five girls. The first position was bagged by Adiba of Kashmir Harvard Higher Secondary School, Habak Naseem Bagh Srinagar, who scored 495 marks (99%).
The second position was shared by Tanzila Hamid and Zainab Bilal of Government Girls HSS Amirakadal Srinagar. Both scored 494 marks (98.8%).
The third position was shared by Ainan Tufail of Government HSS Chanpora and Tabish Mushtaq of Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI), Ellahibagh Srinagar, with both scoring 493 marks (98.6%).
In the Arts stream, all top positions have been secured by girl students.
The first position went to Areeza Javid of GVEI Srinagar, who scored 496 marks (99.2%).
The second position was secured by Shifa Qureshi of Government Girls HSS Nowhatta Srinagar, who scored 495 marks (99%). The third position was shared by four students, each scoring 494 marks (98.8%). They include: Muzaina Tahir, Government HSS Amirakadal Srinagar; Fatimah Mudasir Moharkan, Women’s Educational Institute Banat, Lal Bazar Srinagar; Hubra Mahajan, Government Girls HSS Kothibagh Srinagar; Injella Mukhtar, Government Girls HSS Kothibagh Srinagar.
