Chairman Haamid Mufti calls for unity against violence
SRINAGAR: The Coaching Centres Association of Kashmir (CCAK) on Wednesday strongly condemned the barbaric terror attack in Pahalgam, where innocent tourists were killed, saying it stands united with every citizen who believes in peace, justice, and humanity in denouncing this act of senseless violence.
“Kashmir, the land of Sufi saints, poets, and centuries-old traditions of tolerance, has always been revered for its unparalleled hospitality and communal harmony. Our culture is deeply rooted in the ethos of Kashmiriyat—compassion, unity, and respect for all, regardless of creed, color, or origin. The brutal killing of those who came to our homeland with trust and admiration for its beauty and warmth is not just a crime—it is an assault on the soul of Kashmir itself,” CCAK chairman Haamid Mufti said in a statement issued here.
He said this horrific attack is a deliberate attempt to shatter the peace that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have been striving so hard to restore after years of turmoil. “It is an attempt to instill fear, discourage the spirit of tourism, and malign the collective identity of the Kashmiri people. But let it be known to all those who operate in the shadows of hatred and extremism—we will not be broken. The people of Kashmir reject such acts with all the strength of their conscience,” he said.
Mufti added, “As representatives of the education sector, we shape young minds and inculcate values of harmony, respect, and rationality. We cannot stay silent when the very principles we teach are trampled upon with such violence. The Coaching Centres Association of Kashmir reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a generation that believes in coexistence, peace, and empathy. We express our deepest and heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. We can never truly understand the pain of losing a loved one in such a brutal manner, but we share your grief and stand by you in this hour of unimaginable loss. We pray to Almighty that the souls of the deceased find eternal peace, and that their families are granted strength and patience to bear this tragedy.”
The CCAK has urged the administration and law enforcement agencies to take swift and decisive action against those responsible, saying, “Justice must be delivered—not only for the families of the victims but also for the conscience of Kashmir that bleeds today.”
“Let the world know that this is not the Kashmir we know, and this is not the Kashmir we accept. Our resolve to protect our traditions of hospitality and communal brotherhood has only grown stronger,” Mufti said.
