HAJIN: The Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, led by Imtiyaz Parray, organised a candlelight vigil in Hajin on Wednesday to protest against the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 28 tourists.
The march began from the main market and concluded at the bus stand, with dozens of locals participating in the peaceful protest. Participants held candles and placards, denouncing the horrific act of violence and expressing solidarity with the victims and their families.
Speaking to reporters during the vigil, Imtiyaz Parray said, “This is not just an attack on tourists, but an attack on humanity.” He added, “No words can describe this barbaric and inhumane act. I strongly condemn this cowardly crime, and those involved must be brought to justice with the harshest punishment.”
He further stated, “These terrorists are trying to tarnish the image of Kashmiris, but we will not let that happen. We will stand united against them and give a befitting response.”
Journalist Gowhar Maqbool, while talking to reporters, said, “We stand with the survivors, and my heart goes out to all the families who lost their loved ones.” Calling it a “barbaric and inhuman act,” he said that no words can truly express the pain and horror caused by such incidents.
“No religion permits the killing of unarmed and innocent people. This was a heinous, barbaric, and cowardly act, which must be condemned by all,” Gowhar added.
