14 From J&K, 2 From Ladakh Qualify UPSC Civil Services Exam

Srinagar: At least fourteen candidates from the Jammu and Kashmir and two from Ladakh have qualified for the Union Public Services Examination 2024.
Those from J&K who have qualified the prestigious exam are Iram Choudhary (rank 40), Mubeeb Bhat (13), Akshay Parihar (26), Haris Mir (314), Manil Bejotra (401), Aakash Gupta (467), Ghulam Hadir (633), Sadif, Yassar, Peerzada, Vishal, Nazir, Harjot and Arshad while as Rigzen Angmo and Ghulam Haider have qualified from the UT of Ladakh.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of civil services examination 2024, on Tuesday (April 22, 2025). Shakti Dubey has secured the first rank, while Harshita Goyal and Dongre Archit Parag get second and third ranks, respectively.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,009 candidates have qualified for the civil services examinations, which was conducted on June 16, 2024. A total of 5,83,213 candidates appeared for the examination.
A total of 14,627 candidates qualified for appearance in the Written (Main) Examination which was held in September, 2024. Out of these, 2,845 candidates qualified for the Personality Test of the examination.
Eventually, a total of 1009 candidates (725 men and 284 women) have been recommended by the Commission for appointment to various Services.
Among the finally qualified candidates, the top five comprise three women and two men. Ms. Shakti Dubey secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2024. She qualified the examination with Political Science and International Relations as her optional subject. She is a B.Sc.Biochemistry graduate from the University of Allahabad.
Harshita Goyal, a B.Com graduate from MS University of Baroda, secured second rank with Political Science & International Relations as her optional subject.
VIT, Vellore alumnus Dongre Archit Parag secured the third in the rank with Philosophy as his optional subject. He is an electronics engineering graduate. Shah Margi Chirag and Akash Garg, who secured fourth and fifth ranks also studied engineering.
The recommended candidates also include 45 Persons with Benchmark Disability, comprising 12 Orthopedically Handicapped, eight Visually Challenged, 16 Hearing Impaired, and nine with Multiple Disabilities.
The candidates will be recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service, and Central Services (Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’).
