HAJIN: As part of the ongoing IEC campaign under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, an awareness programme on drug abuse was organised at the Town Hall Hajin on Thursday.
The event, conducted by the Municipal Committee Hajin, aimed to raise awareness about the harmful effects of drug addiction.
Executive Officer MC Hajin, Farhana Showkat, presided over the programme. Among others present were resource persons Mohammad Shafi Wagay, Dr. Abdul Rashid, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Lone, and Sameena Akhter.
In her address, EO Farhana Showkat highlighted the severe impact of drug abuse—not only on individuals but also on families and society at large. She emphasised the importance of collective community action in combating the menace and fostering a drug-free environment.
The awareness programme was attended by members of the Traders Federation Hajin, Wahab Transport Hajin, Gousia Sumo Stand Hajin, Civil Society Hajin, students, and senior citizens.
