Two militants have been killed in the ongoing gunfight with government forces at Hingnikoot in Ramhal forest in Handwara area of north Kashmir.
A top police officer said that 5 to 6 militants are believed to have been trapped in.
The encounter had started earlier today when a joint team of SoG Handwara and 6RR of Army cordoned off Hingnikoot Ramhal area of Handwara.
As the search operation was intensified the hiding militants in suspected area fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
