PDP discusses civilian deaths, arrests

Srinagar: The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, chaired a high-level meeting on Friday at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The meeting, attended by senior party leaders, focused on the “rising civilian killings and arbitrary arrests” carried out in the name of security across Jammu and Kashmir.
A PDP spokesperson stated that the discussions addressed key organizational and political issues, as well as the pressing challenges faced by the people of the region. The meeting also saw a decision to launch a membership drive, which will officially begin at the PDP office in Jammu on February 13.
Mehbooba Mufti urged party leaders to take the membership campaign to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir, aiming to expand the party’s base and strengthen its support.
Prominent party leaders present at the meeting included Mir Mohammad Fayaz from Kupwara, senior leaders Naeem Akhtar and Asiya Naqash, Additional General Secretaries Advocate Nasir Hussain and Rajat Randhawa, and Additional Spokesperson of the party.
