Clashes between government forces and protesters erupted in Qaimoh area of Kulgam as forces laid a siege in the area.
According to the sources, amid a complete shutdown an Army patrol party reached the area which was stoned triggering clashes.
Witnesses said that army fired many shots in air to disperse the protesters. However, there was no official confirmation.
The clashes were going on when reports last came in.
