Another army man who was injured in a gunfight with militants at Imam Sahab area of Shopian in south Kashmir has succumbed to his injuries in Srinagar base hospital.
According to the reports, the injured were airlifted to military’s 92 base hospital Srinagar for treatment where all three of them breathed last.
The deceased was identified as Sepoy Kripal Singh.
Earlier, a joint team of Army’s 62 RR, SOG and CRPF today late in the night at around 2:30 am launched a cordon-and-search operation at village Matribugh, Zoipora in the southern district following a tip off about the presence of some militants.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation, the militants hiding in the area opened fire triggering off an encounter, the officer said.
