Srinagar: Police in Awantipora alongwith security forces have arrested four militant associates of JeM in Tral area, a police spokesperson said.
The arrested associates have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Naik son of Farooq Ahmad Naik resident of Tral Payeen, Umar Nazir Sheikh son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh resident of Kuchmulla, Inayat Firdoos Rather son of Firdoos Ahmad Rather resident of Tral Payeen and Salman Nazir Lone son of Nazir Ahmad Lone resident of Kounserbal Tral. “Incriminating materials have been recovered from their possession,” a police spokesperson said.
He said it is pertinent to mention here that all the arrested terrorist associates were involved in providing logistics support and transportation of arms and ammunition to the active militants of proscribed outfit JeM in Tral and Awantipora areas.
In this regard, he said, a case vide FIR No.134/2024 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Tral and further investigation has been initiated.
